I had ...Actually that occured to me after I posted. I had a vague recollection that Jennifer was going on the international program in second year, but she was such a perfect fit that I thought something must have changed. Because you spoke so naturally of being around for the second year courses. And then you wrote back, citing exactly that factor as proof of your non-Jenniferness. So I'm going to have to reluctantly concede that you're not Jennifer after all.

Marty Greenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17624084719249673373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6856782335366504160.post-67529853498555471652013-08-23T17:56:10.621-05:002013-08-23T17:56:10.621-05:00And if I were not, I'd still deny it because I...And if I were not, I'd still deny it because I would consider it unfair to wrongly assign my opinions and posts to someone who didn't make them (ie: Jennifer). Of particular note is the fact that she wasn't at the university during the second year (she was doing an international practicum) and, thus, would not have been in attendance for the courses that I spoke of.

It isn't an attempt at duplicity, Marty. It is genuinely not Jennifer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6856782335366504160.post-36605030268956357672013-08-23T17:49:57.246-05:002013-08-23T17:49:57.246-05:00But if you WERE Jennifer, of course you'd deny...But if you WERE Jennifer, of course you'd deny it.Marty Greenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17624084719249673373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6856782335366504160.post-68929435312977184712013-08-23T17:28:06.716-05:002013-08-23T17:28:06.716-05:00Swing and a miss! Both people in your group had spoken ab...Correct.

Both people in your group had spoken about the experience, particularly after it was revealed that you would not be attending classes any longer. The only thing I gleaned from that was a rather clear sense of regret that they could not simultaneously make you feel welcome to share your contributions whilst including their own (whether or not those were at all distinct from what the rest of the class came up with; as I recall, many of the maps were fairly... similar). You mentioned, earlier, that you believed "Moonface" didn't like you, in light of that assignment. Aside from complaints about the assignment, itself (and concept maps in general), I think the only mention of you in regards to that experience was that he felt he messed up, badly, in trying to keep you involved. I can understand where you might have drawn a different conclusion, but, at the same time, I've had the ability to interact with your former cohort for a longer period of time than you have. I suppose that makes it my word against yours.

I don't think that your group was aiming to blindly follow what was being told to the exclusion of all else, nor do I get the impression they found you "incomprehensible" or unruly. Not even "Moonface" (if he is who I believe he is; a grade-grubber, for sure, but not a hostile person). I think they actually bemoaned the exercise as being pointless (I doubt they'd be duplicitous about that), so I'm not sure I agree with you calling the entire experience a "microcosm" of your overall experience in education. Moreover, you would have found the second year to be an entirely different beast than the first. Many of your colleagues found their own direction within the courses offered (even ones you are apparently accusing of being subordinate to the line of authority; believe me, I was shocked, too), and they were not penalized for it.

In any case, this entire discussion is quite out of step with the rest of your blog. Aside from the fact that it is based entirely on opinion and speculation about who thought what about whom. It seems to be rife with generalizations, and it does nothing to the standing of your legal case against the university.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6856782335366504160.post-71330618209094243972013-08-23T16:38:26.287-05:002013-08-23T16:38:26.287-05:00Okay...but you're the one who wrote this yeste...Okay...but you're the one who wrote this yesterday, right:

"I recall a concept map in Prof. Bush's class discussing the nature of science, where group members were receptive to your ideas, but wanted their own represented as well. You left in a hurry interpreting that as being misunderstood/excluded when that wasn't the case."

It doesn't help that you all call yourselves "Anonymous". Or maybe what I'm understanding now is that you were writing about "group members" in the third person...that you weren't actually the girl in the group, but you heard about it later. Is that it?

That would explain how I mis-identified you yesterday.

Marty Greenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17624084719249673373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6856782335366504160.post-58736132718116359522013-08-23T15:52:17.027-05:002013-08-23T15:52:17.027-05:00I'm not the girl from that group, either.
